Fixings for Insulation Line Mats and Covers

Linesman are always looking for faster and better ways of going about their work. In order to secure a safe working environment when performing live line work on the power lines and connections, "rubbering up" or insulating potential live conductors is a necessity.

Balmoral have poured much R&D into creating a Line cover, mat or drape that is fast and easy to use, making sure a balance is struck between ease of use and reliability in all elements. We have pioneered 2 new fastening methods to complement our Velcro and traditional stud range of Linesman covers. We now produce a magnetic cover and a press stud cover. Both prove far easier to use, making "rubbering up" a far quicker and more effective process. The magnets are fully insulated and rated in a tough polypropylene casing. They automatically snap lock together when approximated allowing the linesman to move on and do something else rather than fussing with trying to thread studs through holes with thick gloves on. The other new option - the new press studs, are also advantageous in these respects: Are easier to push together than traditional studs, are impervious to temperature, i.e. are (not more difficult) to use in the cold, have a hole for cable/zip tie fixing and can be joined together so that line mats may be linked. For more information on our range of covers and fasteners, please download the brochure or ring for more details.
